I'm Paul.

I work on the internet.

Most days that means some combination of building websites, digging into data, setting up tracking and analytics, running ads, automating workflows, and figuring out how everything connects.

I never really planned to work across all of those areas. One thing just kept leading to another.

Building a website led to analytics.
Analytics led to marketing.
Marketing led to automation.

The common thread is that I'm interested in how things work and discovering how different things connect and complement one another.

This site is mostly a collection of notes.

Things I've built. Problems I've run into. Campaigns I've tested. Automations I've set up. Observations from looking at data for too long. Occasionally something about work, life, or whatever I'm learning at the moment.

I don't write because I have all the answers.

Most of the time I'm writing because I'm trying to understand something well enough to explain it.
